Gore-Tex (GTX) is a breathable waterproof material. It is comprised of a porous membrane that blocks external liquids, such as rain, from entering whilst allowing perspiration vapours to escape. GTX is made from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), an incredibly strong, microporous material with great weathering properties, perfect for footwear.
